About Emma Lynn

Emma came as quit a surprise. I got a BFP on May 4, 2009 and honestly I think I stared at the double lines for about 10 minutes in shock. We weren't "actively" trying but we weren't "preventing" it either- to be honest the month we found out we were pregnant was the month that I was tracking my temperature and ovulation. I guess we were just lucky!! We were so excited to be having a baby and pretty much embraced the fact that we were having a baby right away. We decided early on that we were going to be surprised about the gender of the baby - It was so hard not knowing. My whole pregnancy I thought that I was having a boy but I think deep down I felt it was a girl. Throughout the pregnancy I had Braxton Hicks contractions - which ended me up in Triage at 32 weeks and was put on work restrictions. I also developed Pregnancy Induced Hypertension - and was induced at 38 weeks because of mild preeclampsia. We went in to Triage at 4am December 30, 2009 and was induced 4 hours later - after 36 hours of horrible labor I was finally able to get an epidural. And at 8pm December 31st, I was fully dilated and started pushing.

Emma Lynn made her arrival at 9:54pm on New Years Eve, she was 6 pounds 6 ounces and 20.5 inches long. I love her so much!! She has quit the personality and I think she is going to be a strong-willed child. She LOVES being with people and is constantly on the go. Im so excited to see her grow and watch her become a young lady!!
